I just complete mixing a Larry Groupé & Rolfe Kent score for an NBC pilot called “Saving Charlie”. It was the first time these two very close friends collaborated together, as composers working separately – each in their own writing studios.
Although television can provide an interesting contrast from feature scoring in terms of workflow, amount of content and deadlines – 5.1 surround mixes are quickly becoming the standard as more and more shows are eventually being released to DVD.
Beyond just mixing, I was tasked to provide seamless delivery to the dub-stage (both sonically and technically), as these types of projects are often under strenuous deadlines. We shipped right on cue – often staying just one reel in front of the dubbing mixers…
